This is the third in a series of films documenting the origins of the key materials chosen for 1 Soho Place W1, our most ambitious build to date.

Travertine stone, sourced from the Tivoli quarries just outside Rome, Italy inspired and influenced the architecture of 1 Soho Place. Its natural colour tones, fossilised shell inclusions and interesting veining tell a story of how it was formed as sedimentary rock under the seas, millions of years ago. At 1 Soho Place it has been used on the façade to complement and contrast with the dark metallic structural and window framing components.
